Integrated System for Underwater Ecological Hull Cleaning of Vessels
About
ECOHULLCLEAN project aims to develop a methodological approach and an integrated system for underwater ecological hull cleaning of vessels.
ECOHULLCLEAN objectives are the design, construction and commercial release of an underwater hull cleaning system capable of capturing and separating the bio fouling that is removed from vessels’ hull during underwater hull cleaning; separating bio fouling by returning discharging back to the environment water free of any alien invasive species; and managing bio-waste properly for the purpose of processing and utilizing it wherever possible.

The proposed study area is the Saronikos Gulf, one of the hot spot areas of alien species in the Hellenic Seas.
The project is coordinated by Diving Status in collaboration with the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR)
